A Breakfast with… Hannah Wilson

16TH MAY 2019  8.30AM - 10.30AM Hampden House, Monument Park, Chalgrove, OX44 7RW

At our ‘A Breakfast with… networking meeting in May we’re looking forward to welcoming our Guest Speaker Hannah Wilson, Executive Head Teacher of Aureus Schools

Hannah has been in the news headlines a lot, sometimes with positive press and sometimes not. She’s challenged the system, tried new initiatives and has battled through adversity in an arena that likes to keep the status quo.

As Head Teacher of two brand new schools she has a lot on her plate anyway. But she’s also introduced a host of new ideas and techniques to the schools; mindfulness, a values-based approach and a programme of mental health awareness for pupils, for staff and for many in their community.

The Aureus team recently won the Gold Mental Health in Schools’ Award for their work in MHA, and is one of only six secondary schools in the country to be awarded the Gold status from the Carnegie Centre of Excellence Mental Health Award for Schools. Aureus School was also shortlisted for the Place2Be wellbeing awards and were placed as highly commended.

Not only have they won awards, they’ve been given a Values Based Quality Mark for their outstanding approach to Value Based Education (#VBE) and have been awarded the Rights Respecting Schools Award.  Obviously something is working pretty well there…

Many say Hannah’s a trailblazer, she’s certainly a passionate Leader.  And she has one heck of a story to tell about how her values have helped her stay resilient and positive – a good example for schools, businesses and the social sectors.  One not to be missed!
